On a quest

Dr. Dorrough is still on a quest to fill the office walls with photographs of beautiful places in Utah. We hope you enjoy these pictures he took on a recent trip through southern Utah and northern Arizona. It was a dark sky weekend, with no moon, which allowed him to photograph the Milky Way galactic core each night. It was hard to believe there are that many stars! We were pleasantly surprised to arrive at Monument Valley very early in the morning to see a waning crescent moon rising just before the sun. We didn’t sleep much on this trip, staying up until midnight photographing the stars, and waking at 3:30 am to claim a spot for the sunrise pictures. We saw so many beautiful places in this giant circle we drove around Utah.
